About

Casa de Khasia – The Harmony of Hospitality Casa de Khasia is a cozy and comfortable family-run guesthouse located in the heart of Zugdidi. The interior design blends vintage charm with modern amenities, creating a warm and convenient environment for guests. The beautifully arranged, green courtyard and patio with an outdoor fireplace make spending time outside especially pleasant. The thoughtfully designed interior often evokes a nostalgic feeling—many guests describe it as the emotion of “returning to grandmother’s home.” In the yard stands an old Megrelian jarvali—a traditional cooking space—furnished with items, tools, and décor typical of historical Samegrelo households. Visitors often remark that it feels like a small, authentic museum. Upon request, guests can enjoy breakfast or dinner in this unique ethnographic setting. Since the day of its founding, the hosts have been dedicated to rediscovering and revitalizing traditional Megrelian recipes to feature on the Casa de Khasia menu. Guests especially enjoy participating in culinary masterclasses: preparing gebzhalia, making ghomi, and baking khachapuri on a stone angura—all of which is cooked over an open fire in the jarvali, making the experience both fun and memorable. Casa de Khasia means “the House of the Khasias.” Khasia is our family name, and we warmly welcome guests into our home—the home of the Khasia family. Visit Samegrelo and experience the true harmony of our hospitality.
