About
Always OpenWe are pleased to introduce Gigo Papa’s Marani, a traditional family wine cellar in Kvareli, and to offer our guests an authentic Kakhetian wine and cultural experience.
Our wine cellar dates back to the 18th century and has been part of our family’s winemaking tradition for generations. We produce traditional qvevri wines and invite our guests to discover Kakhetian winemaking, cuisine, and family traditions in an authentic and welcoming setting.
Our experiences include:
1. Wine Tasting
Our wine tasting includes three varieties: Qvevri Saperavi, Qvevri Rkatsiteli, and Rosé, accompanied by traditional chacha and a selection of churchkhela.
2. Rtveli — Traditional Grape Harvest
Our family owns vineyards located both in the courtyard in front of the cellar and approximately 10 minutes away.
Guests are welcome to experience the traditional Kakhetian Rtveli, including grape picking and pressing the grapes in our traditional 4.5-meter-long wooden wine press (satsnakhli).
3. Traditional Culinary Masterclasses
Guests can take part in a variety of traditional Georgian culinary experiences, including baking bread in a tone oven, preparing mtsvadi, making churchkhela, baking khachapuri, and shaping khinkali.
Upon request, we can also arrange a traditional chacha distillation experience.
4. Restaurant Service
Our indoor restaurant can accommodate up to 40 guests, and we also have an outdoor dining area.
We offer traditional Kakhetian dishes prepared in a family-style setting, paired with local wines and served in a warm and authentic atmosphere.
