Winery Awino

The AWINO winery is located in the village of Tamaris (until 1944, Traubenberg) of the Marneuli municipality, on the left bank of the Khrami River, 320 meters above sea level. Marneuli is the archaeological center of Georgian vine and wine culture. The archaeological sites of Gedreshli Gora and Shulaveri Gora are located in the same municipality, where an international multidisciplinary study of the discovered archaeological material confirmed that wine was being made here 8,000 years ago. The history of AWINO begins in 2019, when Artur Akopiani decided to engage in winemaking. He planted Kisi, Pink Rkatsiteli, Chinui, Goruli Mtsvane and Tavkveri and began making wine. There are 10 qvevris in the winery, with a total capacity of 7 tons. The destemmed grapes are fermented with natural yeast, aged in qvevri for 1 year, and then Artur transfers the wine into stainless steel tanks. AWINO's assortment includes Rkatsiteli, Rkatsiteli Pink, Saperavi, Kisi, Tavkveri, and Chinuri.Advance reservation is required.
